At the end of every school year the Georgia School of Preaching & Biblical Studies hosts its annual Bible Lectureship at its Marietta campus. This event usually coincides with commencement, and is held at or near the beginning of June. This year the lecturership will be held June 6th and 7th.
Our lectureship is a two day event (Friday evening and Saturday morning) featuring well-known preachers from churches of Christ as our keynote speakers. In addition, our program includes GSOP alumni as guest speakers during the Saturday morning sessions. Special features of our lectureship include the annual “Cal Arquitt Breakfast” on Saturday morning. During this time of food and fellowship, we honor a distinguished servant of God for a lifetime of diligence as a preacher, teacher, elder, or other worker in the church. These honorees are usually asked to deliver a keynote address during the hour and then are presented with the, “Cal & Meda Arquitt Pioneer Award,” at the conclusion of the breakfast. An additional feature of our lectureship is a luncheon at the conclusion of Saturday’s program where faculty, alumni, and graduates are honored. The, “GSOP Alumnus of The Year Award,” is presented to a worthy recipient, and certificates are awarded to graduates.
The GSOP Bible Lectureship is free of charge to all who wish to attend, and is a fitting conclusion to an academic year of study, hard work, and accomplishment. More details are available through the office of the GSOP director.
